Position Qualifications/Responsibilities

Position Qualifications - Responsibilities:

A master’s degree is mandatory (or the foreign equivalent or its equivalent in training, ability, and/or experience) and Ph.D. is ideal. The degree should be in Construction Management/Engineering/Land Development or a closely related field with a minimum of 3 years experience in the US construction industry. Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and demonstrate expertise in two of the following areas: land development, estimating, construction project management, scheduling and sustainable construction. This position is contingent on funding being available.

Required Education - Experience - Skills (Minimum Qualifications):

A background in construction management or engineering will be regarded favorably, and expertise in site and development planning process, estimating, project management, scheduling and facilities management with an interest in developing research in one or more areas is desirable. Candidates must have a demonstrated record of, or commitment to, scholarly achievement and excellence in research, publications, and presentations. Desirable teaching qualifications include: evidence of excellence in teaching, excellent verbal and written communication skills, interest in a highly collaborative faculty environment, experience in and enthusiasm to teach both face to face and online, and experience in curriculum planning and development, and provide service to the university, the community, and the construction industry.
The selection process will place emphasis on the applicants’ potential for contributions in teaching, scholarship, and service. The ideal candidate will have a professional registration and/or doctoral degree, university-level teaching experience, industry experience and/or higher education in the favorable areas.

The Construction Management Department offers an ACCE-accredited Bachelor of Science degree and an accredited Master of Science degree in construction management. BS CM degree students have the option to choose from four concentrations: General Contracting, Land Development, Specialty (Electrical, mechanical & Plumbing) and Facilities Management.
