Position Qualifications/Responsibilities

Position Qualifications - Responsibilities:

Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Exercise Science and/or Sport Management, or a related field that would compliment the programs in the department and meet qualifications for appointment as Associate or Full Professor. The successful candidate should be a strategic visionary with empowering, democratic team building, and interpersonal skills; ability to promote the vision and mission of the University, College, and Department; and have diverse professional experience supporting the administrative role, including taking leadership in strategic planning, managing budgets,seeking external funding, building community collaborations, promoting faculty scholarship, and supporting faculty teaching and service activities. Experience with gaining and maintaining accreditation and or certification of academic programs is strongly desired. The Chair will also serve as an instructional leader who is expected to maintain a record of teaching effectiveness and applied scholarly achievement.

Required Education - Experience - Skills (Minimum Qualifications):

Candidates are expected to have an earned doctorate (or its foreign equivalent or its equivalent in training, ability, and/or experience), in exercise science and or sport management or a related field with the ability to implement an independent line of research publishable in refereed journals.
