Position Qualifications/Responsibilities

Position Qualifications - Responsibilities:

Candidates applying to this position are expected to have strong commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, and capability to develop research programs in the area of structural engineering. The successful candidate should be able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in one or more of the following areas: structural analysis, reinforced concrete design, post-tensioned and pre-stressed concrete design, steel design, wood design, masonry design, finite element analysis, bridge engineering, structural dynamics, and engineering mechanics. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop a vigorous, interdisciplinary and sustainable research program in his or her area of expertise. Responsibilities will include teaching, scholarship and service.

Required Education - Experience - Skills (Minimum Qualifications):

An earned doctorate degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field (or the foreign equivalent or its equivalent in training, ability, and/or experience) is required. A minimum of three years of relevant industrial experience is required. Professional engineer(PE) licensure is desirable. Ability to teach Finite Element Analysis, Post-tensioned and Prestressed Concrete Design is ideal.
