Position Qualifications - Responsibilities:

Kennesaw State University invites applications for a Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in Communication and Media with a focus on Journalism and Emerging Media, and Manager of Video-Media Technology. Qualifications include an earned master’s or doctorate in Communication, Journalism, or related discipline, or its foreign equivalent, with demonstrated effectiveness in teaching. Professional experience in television news is strongly desired. Knowledge and use of HD video cameras, Adobe Creative Suite (including Premiere and Audition) and other software are required. Ability to manage technology spaces and digital media equipment and participate in planning for strategic improvements in the areas of digital production and digital literacy & innovation are essential. Collegiality and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary School of Communication and Media are also expected. Responsibilities include teaching required and elective journalism courses. A particular need is in teaching digital media production, photojournalism, advanced video production. Candidates are expected to provide service to the university and the wider community.

Required Education - Experience - Skills (Minimum Qualifications):

Candidates must have earned a M.A. or Ph.D. in Communication, Journalism, or related discipline, or its foreign equivalent, at the time of employment. Applicants with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered.
A commitment to excellence in teaching, complemented by engagement, is expected of all faculty members in KSU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
