Position Qualifications/Responsibilities

Position Qualifications - Responsibilities:

The Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education hires part-time faculty to teach undergraduate social studies methods courses These positions are on an as-needed, per semester basis to teach traditional and non-traditional students at an on-campus or off-campus site.

Required Education - Experience - Skills (Minimum Qualifications):

Qualified applicants must have earned at least a master’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, and/or early childhood education with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Social Studies/Social Studies Education. Birth through Kindergarten, or Preschool through 5th grade teaching is ideal. EdS and/or doctorate degree is desirable. University teaching in the aforementioned areas and/or former experience supervising teacher education candidates in these areas is ideal. Applicants with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered.

All part-time faculty will be expected to participate in professional development, meetings, and seminars as deemed appropriate. For example, all field supervisors will be required to complete CITI training.
