Kennesaw State University’s English Department is accepting applications for a tenure-track position for Assistant Professor of English focused on Applied and Professional Writing. This position will require teaching professional writing courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels on such topics as workplace, technical, and web writing; writing the biography; and professional editing. Ideal candidates will have a promising record of scholarship in the field of professional writing, including conference presentations and publications. Candidates with industry experience are especially encouraged to apply. All candidates should have an interest in the impact of emerging technologies on the field of professional writing.

Commitment to excellence in teaching, complemented by strong scholarship and engagement, is expected of all faculty members in KSU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Candidates should have experience teaching in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses. Moreover, candidates will also be expected to serve on capstone committees for MAPW graduate students in applied writing. Other responsibilities will include consulting on course and program development and contributing broadly to the vitality of the department and the university community through a variety of service activities.

Required Education - Experience - Skills (Minimum Qualifications):

An earned Ph.D. in English or a related field, the foreign equivalent, or an earned MFA is required, as well as a record of research or indication of publication potential is essential. Applicants with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered.
