Kennesaw State University invites applications for a Lecturer position in the Department of Technical Communication and Interactive Design to teach introductory courses in technical communication.

Lecturer positions are non-tenure-track but renewable annually. This appointment includes a typical 5/4 teaching load, with some university service obligation. Ideal candidates will have an academic grounding in Technical Communication and demonstrated skill in teaching technical communication courses to both potential TCOM majors and to students majoring in STEM fields.

Faculty in the department teach in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face and hybrid. Experience in teaching and/or certification in hybrid formats and pedagogies is recommended.

The position will be hired on a renewable contract to begin in Fall 2018.

Required Education - Experience - Skills (Minimum Qualifications):

Applicants are expected to have at a minimum a Master’s degree in Technical Communication or a closely related field (Ph.D. is ideal) with at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in Technical Communication. Applicants with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered.

Industry experience as a technical communicator and teaching experience as an instructor of technical communication (ideally in face-to-face and higher education settings) are highly desirable.
