Position Qualifications/Responsibilities

Position Qualifications - Responsibilities:

The Department of Social Work and Human Services at Kennesaw State University is creating a pool of applications in anticipation of future openings for part-time faculty to teach courses related to human services with an emphasis in social engagement and advocacy. There will also be opportunities for part-time faculty to supervise students while in their internship sites. Preference will be given to instructors willing to teach morning and evening classes using a three-day class model (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays).

Preference will be given to instructors who are able to teach in the focused areas of social welfare policy, cultural competence, community intervention, working with families, interviewing skills, working with groups, human development and socialization, and crisis intervention.

This position is renewable.
Required Education - Experience - Skills (Minimum Qualifications):

Master’s Degree (or its foreign equivalent) in Human Services, Counseling, Psychology, Cultural Studies, Sociology, Social Work or related field is required for this instructor position; and minimum of one-year experience in public, nonprofit or private human service agencies. Applicants should speak to their ongoing demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in the cover letter.

Ideal Requirements
Doctoral coursework or doctoral degree (or its foreign equivalent) in Human Services, Counseling, Psychology, Cultural Studies, Sociology, Social Work, or related field and a minimum of one year teaching experience is desirable.
