Position Qualifications/Responsibilities

Position Qualifications - Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (in-class and online); conducting research and grant writing for external funding; providing service to the department, college, University, and professional community; participating in curriculum and program development; supervising thesis work, directed studies, and student projects; advising students; and working with a diverse community.

Experience teaching on-line courses is desired.

Desired areas of expertise include cyber security ; IoT, innovation and entrepreneurship in IT, networking, and enterprise IT management.

Required Education - Experience - Skills (Minimum Qualifications):

Candidates must have earned Ph.D. in Information Technology or closely related field or the foreign equivalent by summer 2018.
All candidates must show evidence of teaching effectiveness; evidence of research productivity (research program and external funding activities) or research potential. Experience teaching on-line courses and evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community is desired.

The Department of Information Technology is housed in the College of Computing and Software Engineering, located on the Marietta campus. The department offers an undergraduate Bachelor of Science in IT (BSIT), Bachelor of Applied Science (BASIT), and the Master of Science in IT (MSIT). The BSIT program is ABET accredited, which ensures that the program has met high-quality standards as set by the Information Technology profession. All three degree programs may be completed online. In addition, the department offers certificate programs including Undergraduate Certificate in Health Information Technology, Graduate Certificate in IT Foundations, Graduate Certificate in Data Management and Analytics, Graduate Certificate in IT Security, and Certificate in Health Information Technology.
